Nata a Seoul, Suzy Lee è un' illustratrice di libri per bambini di fama internazionale. Conseguito il suo BFA in pittura alla Seoul National University, si specializza nel 2001 presso il Campbell College of Arts frequentando un Master in Book Arts. L'originalità delle sue creazioni è subito molto apprezzata, tanto che numerosi suoi libri ottengono prestigiosi premi: il libro "Wave" (2008), poetica storia di una bimba che vede per la prima volta il mare, ottiene la Gold Medal for Original Art dalla Society of Illustrators (Usa, 2008). "Alice in Wonderland" (2002), liberamente ispirato al celebre romanzo di Lewis Carroll, è un'armoniosa fusione di disegni, foto in bianco e nero, giochi di ombre in grado di creare suggestive atmosfere e fitte reti di rimandi artistici e letterari, qualità che guadagnano a questa opera un posto d'onore nella collezione di libri d'artista della Tate Britain di Londra. Attualmente Suzy Lee vive e lavora a Singapore.
Born in Seoul, Suzy Lee is a children's book illustrator famous the world over. After obtaining her BFA in painting at Seoul's National University, she specialized in 2001 at Campbell College of Arts attending a Master in Book Arts. The originality of her creations is very much appreciated, so much so that a number of her books win prestigious prizes such as Gold Medal for Original Art by Society of Illustrators (USA, 2008) for the book "Wave" (2008), the poetic story of a little girl that sees the sea for the first time. "Alice in Wonderland" (2002), inspired by the famous novel by Lewis Carroll, is a harmonious blend of drawings, black and white photos, shading that creates interesting atmospheres and thick networks of literary and artistic references. All these qualities win this work a special place in the collection of art books in London's Tate Britain. Suzy Lee currently lives and works in Singapore.
