Born in Graz in 1989. She has published two novels as well as several pieces for literary magazines and radio. She has also produced texts for the theatre and for film. Numerous awards and literary scholarships, most recently a government scholarship awarded by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture (BMUKK). She has travelled all over the world, from Africa to the wild east. Valerie Fritsch is a writer, photographer and traveller. Her forthcoming novel "Winters Garten" ("Winter's Garden") is due to be published by Suhrkamp Verlag in 2015.
