Go Dugong è il progetto solista di Giulio Fonseca. Un animale sottomarino che si muove attraverso barriere di beat muscolari e solidi fondali hip-hop, riuscendo a raggiungere sempre lucenti profondità emozionali sulle quali adagiarsi. Una carriera che si snoda su più livelli, capace di regalare ad ogni passo una differente prospettiva dalla quale osservare il suo evolversi. Partendo da un ep, "White Sun" (2012, AMDISCS), che seduceva per le delicatezze chillstep e passando per la ricerca di una forma più pop nella quale incastonare i suoi ritmi, aiutato anche dal featuring di Life & Limb, in "Carry a Flag", primo 7" per Lebenstrasse. "Was", pubblicato a fine 2013, colleziona numerosi feedback, ed è la release che trascina Go Dugong ad affermarsi come uno dei migliori producer nati in Italia negli ultimi anni. Porta la sua musica in giro per festival e venue come roBOt, Spring Attitude, Indierocket, MI AMI, Barrakud, TOdays, e in set dove la sua espressività multiforme trova libero sfogo, mescolando «ritmi carioca, boom bap, africanismi e bass music inglese» (To Be Pop). "A Love Explosion" è il suo primo LP, pubblicato a febbraio 2015 in free download per Fresh Yo!. Dieci tracce strumentali che sono un inno all'amore, ispirate alle melodie dei grandi compositori italiani, che spiazzano e colpiscono il pubblico e la critica. La sua ricerca continua in una direzione ancora più tribale e meticcia, un ponte che collega le differenti anime della metropoli in cui vive, Milano. Il risultato si chiama "Novanta", un LP uscito a novembre 2015 per 42 Records/Fresh Yo!.
Giulio Fonseca is the name behind the moniker of Go Dugong: an underwater creature that lives through reefs of muscular beats and hip hop ocean floors, able to reach the deepest abyss of sentiment to lie on it. Imagine his career as a path that twists and turns in multifaceted directions, just like a prism in which any of its cuts reflects a different angle of his growing. If his first EP, "White Sun" (2012, AMDISCS), has been easily seduced by delicate chillstep streams, his follow-up "Carry a Flag", a 7''out for LebensStrasse, represents the embrace of pop sonorities and it bears the signature of Life & Limb too. "Was", released in late 2013, affirms Go Dugong as one of the best Italy-based producer of latest years, able to converge different sonic arteries to a unique heart-beat. He brought his music around festivals and venue like roBOt, Spring Attitude, Indierocket, MI AMI, in live-set where his multiform expression have found free rein, mixing UK bass with carioca rhythms, boom bap and african roots. "A Love Explosion" has been his first LP, released in February 2015 via Fresh Yo!. Ten instrumental tracks that are a hymn to love, inspired by the melodies of the great Italian composers, that have stirred the soul of listeners and critics. His continuous seeking towards tribal and hybrid sonorities, a bridge that connects the different souls of the city in which he lives, Milan. The result is Go Dugong's forthcoming LP, "Novanta", out in November 2015 via 42 Records / Fresh Yo!.
