Isabelle Arvers è una pioniera nel campo dei videogame, del retrogaming e della videoarte. Parigina, classe 1972, già curatrice di "Playtime - the gaming room of Villette Numérique" (2002) e di una net.art gallery, attraverso mostre e installazioni ha sdoganato i videogiochi come una nuova forma espressiva e un medium per artisti. Tra le sue prime esperienze sul campo vanno certamente annoverate le curatele di "Mind Control" (mostra di net.art presso il Banana RAM di Ancona) e del Node Runners Game Festival 2004, come anche l'organizzazione di un concerto per gameboy al Project 101 di Parigi nello stesso anno. Dalla seconda metà degli anni Duemila, il suo crescente interesse verso i Machinima (film creati grazie all'utilizzo di videogiochi con un motore grafico 3D), l'ha portata a realizzare mostre e workshop interattivi di grande impatto sia in Francia che in Repubblica Ceca, Canada e Brasile. Negli ultimi tempi ha curato le mostre "antiAtlas of Borders" (2013), "Art of Bordering" (2014) e "End of the map Exhibition" (2015) tra Berlino, Roma e Parigi.
Isabelle Arvers is a pioneer in the field of video games, retrogaming and video art. Born in Paris in 1972, she has curated "Playtime - the gaming room of Villette Numérique" (2002) and a net.art gallery, and through exhibitions and installations, she has established video games as a new expressive form and a new medium for artists. Notable among her early experiences in the field are "Mind Control" (net.art exhbiition at the Banana RAM in Ancona) and the Node Runners Game Festival 2004, as well as organizing a Gameboy concert at Project 101 in Paris in the same year. In the second half of the 2000s, her growing interest in Machinima (films created with video games using a 3D graphics engine 3D) led her to create important interactive workshops and exhibitions in France, as well as in the Czech Republic, Canada and Brazil. Her recent activities include curating the exhibitions "antiAtlas of Borders" (2013), "Art of Bordering" (2014) and "End of the map Exhibition" (2015) in Berlin, Rome and Paris.
