RUNNING IN CITIES

2019_09_07_178
For the past 25 years, with some breaks in between, John Freeman has lived in cities. He has also spent a good portion of that time running. Some days it is only 5 kilometers, while other days he doesn't stop until nearly halfway to a marathon. This way of being in the world has completely altered his sense of time and space, and has taught him how to look at cities from the speed of a human animal, rather than a car, bus or subway. In his talk he will reflect upon what it means to move through a city at this pace, and what different cities have shown him.
