Kirsten Fuchs è cresciuta a Berlino Est. Ha partecipato ai corsi della Schreibwerkstatt, dove adesso insegna, ha studiato alcuni anni Germanistica all'università e ha concluso la scuola professionale di falegnameria. Due anni dopo aver ottenuto il primo premio al famoso concorso Open Mike di Berlino, ha pubblicato il romanzo d'esordio "Die Titanic und Herr Berg" (2005). Il romanzo descrive, con parole spietate, e con giochi linguistici estremi, un rapporto damore bramoso, visto dalla doppia prospettiva dei protagonisti, nel clima di attuale disperazione tedesca. La Fuchs è attiva nello scenario berlinese dei reading nei caffè letterari. Nell'estate 2006 esce col titolo "Zieh dir das mal an!" una raccolta di articoli scritti per la "Taz".
Kirsten Fuchs grew up in East Berlin. She attended the Schreibwerkstatt courses, where she currently teaches, and studied German Studies for some years at the University and she finished her vocational carpentry school. Two years after having won the first prize at the famous Open Mike Contest in Berlin, she published her debut novel "Die Titanic und Herr Berg" (2005). The novel describes, with ruthless words and extreme word plays, a lusty lovestory taking place in the current hopeless German climate, as seen from the points of view of both protagonists. Fuchs carries out readings in many literary cafés in Berlin. In summer 2006, her "Zieh dir das mal an!", a collection of articles written for "Taz", was published.
