Robert Katz è nato nel 1933 a Brooklyn, New York. Ha studiato al Brooklyn College di New York ed ha ricevuto numerosi premi sia per le sue opere letterarie che per le sceneggiature cinematografiche, tra i quali un Golden Globe e una nomination al Pulitzer. É anche particolarmente noto come critico ed è stato reso famoso in Italia dal libro "Morte a Roma", tradotto in dieci lingue, da cui è stato tratto il film, prodotto da Carlo Ponti, "La Rappresaglia". Apprezzato in tutto il mondo per la capacità di unire la scrittura narrativa, spesso intrisa di mistero, all'indagine giornalistica, Robert Katz, oltre ad aver tenuto corsi e lezioni in numerose università, ha girato il mondo come giornalista freelance, ha lavorato presso le Nazioni Unite e per la RAI, per il programma Mixer. É morto all'età di 77 anni in Toscana, dove ha vissuto per molti anni.
Robert Katz was born in 1933 in New York. He studied at Brooklyn College in New York and has been awarded several prizes both for his literary work and his cinema screenplays, including one Golden Globe and a nomination for the Pulitzer Prize. He is also a very well known critic and has become famous in Italy with his book "Morte a Roma" (Death in Rome), translated into ten languages, which Carlo Ponti made into a film: "La Rappresaglia". Highly regarded worldwide for his ability to blend fictional writing, often imbued with mystery, with journalistic enquiry, Robert Katz, besides holding courses and classes at various universities, has traveled the world over as a freelance journalist, has worked for the United Nations and for RAI in the programme Mixer. He died at the age of 77 years in Tuscany, where he lived for many years.
