Ares Tavolazzi è un bassista e contrabbassista italiano di musica jazz. Inizia la carriera di bassista suonando nel gruppo beat "Avengers". Nel 1969 forma, con Ellade Bandini e con il tastierista milanese Vince Tempera, il gruppo "The Pleasure Machine", con cui incide cinque 45 giri nei tre anni successivi. Dopo lo scioglimento dei "The Pleasure Machine", entra nel gruppo storico d'avanguardia "Area" e nel medesimo periodo si avvicina alla musica jazz, frequentando l'ambiente jazzistico di New York. Nel 1978 presterà la sua opera al basso e nei backing vocals per "Ufo Robot" e sarà coautore con Vince Tempera della prima sigla finale della serie, "Shooting Star", in cui suonerà anche il basso. Dal 1990 ad oggi ha collaborato con numerosi musicisti italiani e stranieri per concerti live e registrazioni discografiche. Ha lavorato anche per il teatro, componendo e suonando dal vivo e tiene seminari sull'improvvisazione musicale in tutta Italia. È insegnante nelle scuole jazz di Milano, Bologna, Ferrara, Rovereto.
Ares Tavolazzi, Ferrara, 1948 is an Italian bass and double bass jazz player jazz. He started his career as a bass player with the group "Avengers". In 1969, with Ellade Bandini and the keyboard player Vince Tempera he created the group "The Pleasure Machine". After "The Pleasure Machine" split up, he joined and avant-garde group, "Area", and in the same year he began experimenting with jazz in New York. In 1978 he played the bass and backing vocals for Ufo Robot. With Vince Tempera he created the first signature tune of the series, Shooting Star, in which he also played the bass. Since 1990 he has collaborated with many Italian and forcing artists in live concerts and recordings. He has composed music and played live for the theatre .He teaches jazz in Milan, Bologna, Ferrara, and Rovereto.
