Nato a Poitiers nel 1972, Cyril Pedrosa si avvicina ancora giovane al mondo del fumetto e intraprende a Parigi gli studi di animazione presso l'École de l'image Gobelins. In seguito inizia a collaborare con la Disney, lavorando come intervallista e assistente animatore per i lungometraggi animati "Il gobbo di Notre Dame" ed "Hercules". Nel contempo pubblica i primi fumetti dal tratto dinamico che lo hanno reso celebre, in particolare "Tre ombre" e "Autobio", anche se a oggi il suo romanzo grafico più conosciuto resta "Portugal", vincitore del Prix de la BD Fnac al Festival di Angoulême 2012. Forte di una vivace scrittura visiva e di influenze letterarie che spaziano dal realismo magico di García Márquez agli universi della narrativa borgesiana, l'opera si è imposta all'attenzione per la varietà di stili e per la potenza espressiva, come pure per l'abilità di Pedrosa nel mantenere un distacco rispetto alle vicende narrate. Il recente "Ring Circus" è il frutto del sodalizio artistico tra l'autore e lo scénariste David Chauvel.
Born in Poitiers in 1972, Cyril Pedrosa approached the comic-strip world at a very young age and studied animation at l'École de l'image Gobelins. He then started collaborating with Disney, working as an intervallist and animator assistant for the animated movies "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "Hercules". Meanwhile he published his first comic- strips "Tre Ombre" and "Autobio", but today his most popular graphic novel is "Portugal", Prix and BD Fnac winner at the Angoulême Festival 2012. With a lively visual narration and literary influences ranging from Garcia Marquez's magic realism to Borges' narration, his work has drawn attention for its variety of styles and expressive power, as well as for Pedrosa ability to keep a distance with the stories he tells. His recent "Ring Circus" stems from a collaboration with author and scénariste David Chauvel.
