Il giornalista premio Pulitzer Joby Warrick (1960) è una firma di punta del "Washington Post" e dal 1996 si occupa per il quotidiano statunitense di terrorismo internazionale, sicurezza interna, ambiente e questioni mediorientali. In passato, insieme a Melanie Sill e Pat Stith è stato insignito di un Pulitzer per il Servizio Pubblico grazie a una serie di articoli apparsi sulla testata "The News & Observer" circa i rischi ambientali e sanitari dei sistemi di smaltimento dei rifiuti utilizzati in Carolina del Nord. In seguito, dalle sue inchieste in Afganistan, è nato il libro "The Triple Agent" (2011), una narrazione che culmina nel tragico attentato di Cam Chapman, costato la vita a sette agenti della CIA nel 2009. Nel 2016 ha vinto un secondo Pulitzer con "Bandiere nere. La nascita dell'Isis", un testo, come si legge nelle motivazioni del premio, che a partire dall'analisi degli errori strategici commessi durante e dopo la seconda guerra in Iraq e da un novero di informazioni confidenziali, ricostruisce la drammatica ascesa di uno dei gruppi terroristici più temuti del mondo. The Pulitzer prize winning journalist Joby Warrick (1960) is one of the leading contributors to the "Washington Post" and he has written about international terrorism, homeland security, the environment and the Middle East for the newspaper since 1996. Together with Melanie Sill and Pat Stith, he was awarded a Pulitzer for Public Service thanks to a series of articles in the "The News & Observer" regarding the environmental and health risks of waste disposal systems used in North Carolina. Following his investigations in Afghanistan, he released the book "The Triple Agent" (2011), the tale of the tragic attack at Cam Chapman which took the life of seven CIA agents in 2009. He won a second Pulitzer in 2016 with "Black Flags. The Rise of ISIS", a work which starts with an analysis of the strategic mistakes made during and after the Second Gulf War in Iraq and some confidential information, reconstructs the dramatic ascent of one of the world's most feared terrorist groups.
