Di origini indiane, ha studiato nelle Università di Oxford e di Cambridge, laureandosi e specializzandosi in discipline umanistiche. Il suo romanzo d'esordio, "In Beautiful Disguises", pubblicato da Bloomsbury nel giugno del 2000, ha vinto il Betty Task Award, ed è stato segnalato per il Guardian Fiction Prize 2000. Il suo racconto "The Dreamer" ha vinto il Ian St. James Short Story Award. In occasione del Festivaletteratura 2002, ha partecipato con un suo racconto ("Un uomo di coscienza") a Scritture Giovani.
He studied at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, obtaining a degree and specialising in humanities. His first novel "In Beautiful Disguises", published by Bloomsbury in June 2000, won the Betty Task Award and was short-listed for the Guardian Fiction Prize 2000. His short story "The Dreamer" won the Ian St. James Short Story Award. He took part to Scritture Giovani at Festivaletteratura 2002.
