Christopher Moore nato a Toledo (Ohio) nel 1957 è uno scrittore statunitense, ha frequentato la Ohio State University e in seguito il Brooks Institute of Photography di Santa Barbara (California). Prima di dedicarsi completamente alla scrittura ha fatto i lavori più disparati, commesso in un supermercato, portiere di notte, lattoniere, cameriere, aiuto fotografo, assicuratore, piastrellista, vice cuoco e deejay.
I suoi romanzi sono best seller ai primi posti delle classifiche editoriali di tutto il mondo, Stati Uniti, Inghilterra, Francia, Germania e Giappone. Ha vinto numerosi premi, tra cui il prestigioso Quill Award per ben due volte consecutive.
