Michel Le Bris è nato a Plougasnou in Bretagna nel 1944. Cavaliere della Legion d'Onore, filosofo, scrittore, critico letterario, animatore del maggio del 1968, co-fondatore di «Libération» al fianco di Jean-Paul Sartre, biografo di Robert Louis Stevenson, esperto di storia e gastronomia piratesca e di viaggi nei mari del Sud, è miracolosamente sopravvissuto al terremoto che ha devastato Haiti nel gennaio 2010, dove si era recato perché è a Port-Au-Prince che si sarebbe dovuta svolgere la prossima edizione del festival letterario di Saint-Malo Etonnants Voyageurs, da lui fondato nel 1990. Il suo libro, "La bellezza del mondo", candidato nel 2008 al Prix Renaudot e al Prix Femina, è stato finalista al Prix Goncourt.
Michel Le Bris was born in Plougasnou in Britanny in 1944. A Chevalier of the Legion of Honour, philosopher, writer, literary critic, activist in the May of 1968, co-founder of "Liberation" with Jean-Paul Sartre, biographer of Robert Louis Stevenson, an expert of pirate history and gastronomy and of voyages in the South Seas, he miraculously survived the earthquake that ravaged Haiti in January 2010, where he went because of that year's edition of the literary festival Saint-Malo Etonnants Voyageurs, founded by him in 1990,was to take place in Port-Au- Prince. His book "La Beauté du monde", shortlisted for the Prix Reaudot and the Prix Femina in 2008, was a finalist at the Prix Goncourt.
