Angelica Garnett, nata a Charleston nel 1918, è stata una scrittrice inglese. Figlia di Vanessa Bell - sorella di Virginia Woolf - e Duncan Grant, trascorse la sua infanzia circondata dalle conversazioni intellettuali della sua famiglia e respirò il clima del Bloomsbury Group. Studiò recitazione, poi si dedicò al disegno, alla pittura, all'illustrazione e alla decorazione. Sposò David Garnett, di ventisei anni più grande di lei, da cui ebbe quattro figlie. Con "Ingannata con dolcezza" ha vinto numerosi premi, tra cui il J.R. Ackerley per la migliore autobiografia. Il suo nuovo libro "La verità nascosta : Quartetto di storie di Bloomsbury" è pubblicato da La Tartaruga edizioni. Il libro è costituito da quattro racconti a metà tra autobiografia e fiction, tra riflessione e comprensione del proprio passato. Muore il 4 maggio 2012.
Angelica Garnett, born in Charleston in 1918, is an English writer. Daugther of Vanessa Bell, Virginia Woolf's sister, and Duncan Grant, she spent her childhood surrounded by the intellectual conversations of her family, breathing in the atmosphere of the Bloomsbury Group. She studied drama, then she devoted herself to drawing, painting and decoration. She married David Garnett, 26 years her senior, with whom she had four daughters. With "Deceived with kindness" she won many awards, including J.R. Ackerley for best autobiography. Her latest book is "The Unspoken Truth", consisting of four stories between autobiography and fiction, between riflection and understanding of her own past. She died on 4th May 2012.
