Roger J. Ellory, nato a Birmingham, è uno scrittore inglese, grande fan del BookCrossing, cantante e chitarrista. Dopo essere rimasto orfano molto giovane ha completato la sua formazione alla Kingham Hill School di Oxfordshire, una scuola per «figli ribelli e orfani». Tornato a Birmingham, dove ha conseguito il diploma in grafica e design a Bournville College of Art, ha approfondito gli studi di filosofia, religione, tecniche psicoanalitiche e psicologia. Grande appassionato di lettura, considera, Arthur Conan Doyle, Michael Moorcock, JRR Tolkien e Stephen King come alcuni degli scrittori che l'hanno maggiormente influenzato. Ellory ha cominciato a scrivere verso la fine del 1987 e nei successivi sei anni ha portato a termine ventidue romanzi, che sono stati tutti respinti da numerosi editori sia del Regno Unito che degli Stati Uniti. Roger J. Ellory, born in Birmingham in 1965, is an English writer, a big fan of BookCrossing, a singer and guitarist. After loosing his parents very early, he was educated at the Kingham Hill School of Oxfordshire, a school for "difficult children and orfans". He returned to Birmingham, where he graduated in Graphics and Design from the Bournville College of Art, and deepened his studies of philosophy, religion, psychoanalysis and phychology. He is an admirer of literature and claims Arthur Conan Doyle, Michael Moorcock, JRR Tolkien and Stephen King to be some of the authors who influenced him strongly. Ellory began writing in 1987 and in the following six years finished 22 novels, that were sent back to him from numerous British and American publishers. After giving up writing for eight years, he took up again in 2001. In 2003 his first novel "Candlemoth" was published, thereafter he has published one novel a year. His books are translated in over 20 languages.
