What is the relationship today between the novel and the cinema? Will there always be some things that novels do better than cinema? And vice versa? Or have great artists in both forms made such generalizations meaningless? Kazuo Ishiguro's relationship with cinema has been a long-lasting one. Two of his books have been adapted into films. He has worked also as a screenwriter, has been a life-long cinema fan and has served on a number of film juries, including at the Cannes Film Festival.
