Nathan Englander è cresciuto a New York e vive tra Brooklyn e Madison, in Wisconsin. Nathan Englander grew up in New York and now lives in Jerusalem. His short stories have been published in "The New Yorker", "The Atlantic Monthly", "Story" and included in several anthologies. Published simultaneously in eight countries, "For the relief of unbearable urges" revealed to the critics and the public an author, as Ann Beattie put it, «with a voice which has revolutionized the structure of short story writing». It has revealed to the public an original talented author typical of the Jewish-Christian tradition. His book won him a PEN/Malamud Award and The Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His first novel "The Ministry of Special Cases", published in the USA in April 2007 by Random House, is already considered one of the best contemporary novels.
